i love this vid and watched it but i just realized that if there were generations of fire sages then the temple must be at least 1000 yrs old, but the only statue in the temple is the one of avatar roku….. kind of odd….

    Yeah, you’re right…
It is kinda weird. Maybe there are other rooms with statues of firebending avatars, but that’s unlikely. Very interesting..

(to feenie and devon).. the reason for that is cause its a temple for ruko only.. there proboly different temples for different avatars who knows but thats the reason for it only being ruko.. cause ruko made it himself and therefore its HIS temple :)

  7. Nikky:

Avatar Roku made the temple from lava, on the crescent island. I assume previous avatars would have their temples also, but elsewhere. Love the Avatar (Aang) series and hope it continues after the movie go out.

I just started watching Avatar, and it’s great, but it’s only episode 8 and they already made a mistake… Comets are made of ice and snow, not fire! -_-

    lol…

avatar roku allways destroy temples…>.> just like in a game, it tells how roku mastered the avatar state… he destroyed his temple before he mastered it…

none of you dumbasses know what a generation is.

  12. kitty:

Honestly, “generations” is pretty vague… a generation is only the time it takes for one person to grow from birth and then have a child, so it could refer to only about 20 years, depending on their customs. For this reason, generations doesn’t have to refer to a thousand years, and could probably fit the amount of time roku’s temple has been around.
(Josh missed the point, but he’s also right)

Ummmm Destroyer.. it’s a special comet? =( really dude? do you have to be so critical? Every cartoon and anime has their own stretches of the imagination and things that differ from reality… imagine how boring everything would be if it was REAL. (-cough- there would be no water/fire/earth/air bending. so really dude? mock the comet? when there are plenty of other weird things that are definitely NOT in any way shape or form true?)

  16. Dzi:

i agree with pupicucek.. :D actor playing the avatar is a funny japanise kid.. and in the treiler of the film he looks so serious all the time.. and in the movie hes happy and kinda stupid but not in the bad side stupid.. just stupid.. :D

  17. poy:

devon the temple is not 1000 years old it was created by roku so is just 100 and something years. and i totaly agree with dzi i think the movie is going to suck. katara and soka in the cartoon are not that white as in the movie. plus they picked a kid that looks like his 9 to play the roll of ang who is 12 in the cartoons. i bet that in the movie there going to skip out alot of parts from the book of water(cause i asume that the movie is about the first book then 2 and then 3) parts like when he meets the face stealer and the fourtune telller and may i not forget about JET.
coment back to see ur oppinion about what i wrote. =D

  18. That Guy:

    @Poy,
It may suck in the eyes of the unscientific mind. However, I think it will be very interesting to see how each of these events would have happened with real people. I often try to imagine myself in one of the kids places. I agree, they could have casted it better, but that’s not that big of a deal.

  19. comment:

it’s true that comets are made of snow and ice but if it hits the earth’s atmosphere the friction causes it to heat up. and thus it’s associated with fire.

  22. Saw it again:

I just watched the series again and the reason why its Roku’s temple is as everyone said it was. But not only that, it was Roku’s home where he spent his last days with his wife before the volcano erupted.
They probably re-built it in his honour, probably by Sozin himself. I mean, I’m guessing no one knew Sozin was there when Roku died, was there?
