Avatar: The Last Airbender Episode Guide

Sokka feels as though he’s not contributing to the team because he lacks bending abilities, so he seeks out a swordmaster who will teach him the way of the sword. He later goes on to make a sword out of a meteorite.

yes she does have soemthing, remember the episode where they have to escort a family with the pregnant woman? the part where toph is in the water and when sokka was about to dive and get her, katara beat her to toph and toph was assuming it was sokka, saying endearing words. ^_^

Toph does have romantic interest in Sokka. First shown when Toph thought Sokka saved her but it was Suki in ‘The Serpents Pass’. There is also the scene in , when Ty Lee in standing in front of Sokka and says “HI, cutie” and he says he already seeing someone, Toph say “Who?”. Now it could be that she recognized Ty Lee, but to me it really sounds like she was responding to what Sokka said, jmo. There is also the book Love Potion #8. I really wonder why the creators never went further with the Toph and Sokka issue. The two of them get along better then Sokka and Suki (proven in later episodes). It would have been nice to see them paired, but oh well.

Iroh is a beast. And that prison guard should really shut up…he’s always yapping about how crazy Iroh is when in reality Iroh could kick his behind with both hands tied behind his back.
Other than that, I think its nice that Sokka’s picked up a valuable skill. He’s more important to the team now.

If u have evar seen “the girls of avatar” featurette, it’s confirmed by the creators that Toph does have a romantic interest in Sokka. also, @sarrah, u really need 2 get ur facts sraight, coz its suki hu rescues Toph, not Katara. lovin Aangs ott armour.:)

And I think Toph does have a thing 4 sokka, have ya ever noticed how in the painted lady toph is holding onto Sokka’s arm in the town? She also does it in other episoides.
Toph is 12 and Sokka is like 15!

lol forgive me to question a masters methods but much like bending elements it takes years to of hard training to become a master you cant just all of a sudden start swinging your sword which is what sokka was doing it takes years to develop the reflexes and sight of a swords man

All their masters (with the exception of Toph) were members of the White Lotus. Zuko – Iroh, Katara – Pakku, Aang – Pakku/that random fire dude, Sokka – that… other random fire swordy-dude.
Jen (Zuko’s date from Zuko’s Tale in Ba Sing Se) and Angie (the girl from Fire Nation Academy) are pretty cool.

@cocopuff: uhm, i guess u know sokka’s father was the southern tribe’s leader, and he’s been using he’s water tribe sword during the previous episodes (eventhough he sucks most of the time), so i think it wouldn’t be hard for sokka to train using a sword, and listening closely to what his master said, sokka’s skills doesn’t define him. what defines him is his character -smart, resourceful, and creative. he used those when he and his master dueled.
@grunt: well techinically, he wasn’t a master yet. remember what his master said, he’ll become a master whos much better than him.

“funny doesnt run in the family…” actually earlier in the series, i think book 2 katara does make some pretty good jokes, but i guess sokka has always been our dearly beloved comic relief character…. haha i love avatar i’ll watch it 100 times, get bored watch other animes, but then when i hear the beginning again, i’ll watch it 100 more times, and so on and so forth…..

and Iroh is friggin awesome i wonder what motivated him to do such workouts and becoming fit, that is the greatest place to workout because its hard the food is tough and limited and you don’t have to worry about hygiene, also the words from the guard could have something to do with it, he’s kinda like Bruce Lee WOOOT
